This is VTUHub’s original study guide for Unit 3 of Introduction to Python Programming (BPLCK205). It is written for Civil students in 2nd Semester on the 2022 scheme. It is not a scanned faculty notebook, not a college handout, and not a university PDF.
The module centres on Analysis and design. In most Civil classrooms that means How to set up, compare, and reason about typical problems. Use that list as a map: if you can explain each phrase without looking it up, the unit is ready for CIE.
Study sequence that actually fits a VTU week: (1) copy the official module title from the scheme PDF on vtu.ac.in, (2) write a half-page outline of analysis and design from memory, (3) work one numerical or derivation that uses the ideas in this unit, (4) mark it against your class notes.
Five-mark SEE answers in this unit usually fail because they skip a diagram or an assumption. Start with a labelled sketch or a one-line definition of analysis and design, then add one worked step. Examiners score that faster than a paragraph copied from a guidebook.
If your college issued an addendum that renames this module, trust the addendum. VTUHub organises publicly described 2022-scheme cores so you can find Python next to its siblings — it does not replace the circular.
- Write the definitions that sit under “Analysis and design” in your own words.
- Work one problem that uses: How to set up.
- Time a twelve-minute five-mark answer, then mark missing steps yourself.
